Petition for Removal of Jayme Cardinal due to inadequate responses to bullying, among other issues.

We, the undersigned parents, students, and concerned community members, urge you to take immediate action to address the pervasive bullying issue at Heaton. Despite numerous reports and incidents, Principal Jayme Cardinal has consistently demonstrated an inadequate response to this critical problem.

 

Reasons for Removal:

 

1. Failure to provide a safe learning environment, as mandated by Colorado law. Colorado's anti-bullying law requires schools to: Follow up on bullying complaints by punishing bullies or through other means. Report acts of bullying. Provide details of actions taken by school administrators to address complaints of bullying.

2. Inadequate policies and procedures to address bullying, leading to a culture of tolerance.

3. Lack of support for victims and their families.

4. Inaction against perpetrators, allowing harmful behavior to continue.

5. Disregard for concerns raised by students, parents, and staff.

 

Demands:

 

1. Immediate removal of Principal Jayme Cardinal from her position.

2. Appointment of an interim principal committed to addressing bullying.

3. Development and implementation of comprehensive anti-bullying policies.

4. Mandatory training for staff on bullying prevention and response.

5. Increased transparency and communication with parents and students.
