Grant Remote Accomodation to Kenyon College International Students!

Grant Remote Accomodation to Kenyon College International Students!
The Issue
I say to you today, my friends. I observe today’s petition not an outbreak of cumulated indignations, but a prudent decision.
COVID-19, which has been lingering around and devastating the world for over six months, is still encroaching our system. We have hoped that the heat of summer comes as a joyous daybreak to end the long night of bad captivity. However, sadly, the startling number of daily infections tells us the cold hard fact: it is always with us.
Though we are very grateful that Kenyon College has prompt reactions and prophylactic methods; though we know that we are competent to face the difficulties of today and tomorrow; though we know that all faculties and administrators are attempting to optimizing the amount of freedom we could have on campus. We, all fellow petitioners, are dedicating to fight for a new birth of equality. And this decision of the students, by the students, for the students, will ensure that we are not suffered from the “suffocating liberty” on campus due to the restrictions.
In many ways, remote accommodations have been proved to be successful and pragmatic. Taking considerations of the fact that there are numerous international students who are either not able to get an American VISA at this point or get a flight ticket because the transportations have been banned by the government. Besides this, the last semester has proven that online classes are workable. Remote accommodation is much safer and more convenient and economically friendly for international students who are not in the USA now.
It is Kenyoners’ spirit that whether it wishes us well or ill, that we will pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe and valiantly bear the Cross. Even if we cannot see each other on campus for one semester, the spirit never dies. On the contrary, in order to assure happiness, right of everyone, including international students and those people who have an inability, remote accommodation is not a luxury but a necessity.
