Relocation for the Class of IrvingISD 2025 Graduation Ceremony

Relocation for the Class of IrvingISD 2025 Graduation Ceremony
The Issue
This holds great significance for me especially being a First Generation Mexican-American; being part of the graduating class of 2025, I have a big, supportive family who have been essential in my educational journey.
The class of 2025 is the first class since COVID to experience all four years of high school in a traditional setting. We've worked incredibly hard towards graduation, and walking the stage at a stadium like Globe Life Field with no limit on how much love and support from our family cheering us on was something we always looked forward to. As many of us are first-generation students, accomplishing this goal is something we’d like to share with the special people in our life that played major roles in our life.
we ask you reconsider. It will significantly impact the graduation experience. Many families and friends might miss the opportunity to see their loved ones walk the stage if the venue is not accessible or accommodating. This moment is one of the biggest milestones in our lives, and having our support system present is crucial. Many of us have gone to school before the sun is even out to support our school and have stayed later than we should’ve for various activities. Many have dedicated their free time to help make IrvingISD what it is along with many, many parents have volunteered over the years. We deserve a better graduation or more tickets for our families.
Now is the time to act because decisions about the graduation venue are being made soon. Immediate action is essential to ensure that our voices are heard and that we get the chance to celebrate this important milestone in a place that truly honors our hard work and dedication.
Therefore, I urge the school board to consider renegotiating the venue for the graduating class of 2025; a more spacious venue that can allow more family members to witness this important milestone or reconsider the number of tickets given to each student.
Please sign this petition and support this call for a venue that can cater to our large and supportive families.
