Yogi a 500 lb. Black bear is on the verge of being hunted down. Sure they call it “euthanizing”, but in reality it is being hunted by “wildlife officials.”Yogi the Black Bear has been threatened with habitat loss. Let’s not let humans also take his life. As humans we have the tendency to be selfish, and forget nature is wildlife. Over the years we have expanded housing by breaking through animals homes, and place of comfort. Leaving less space for them to live, and have viable food sources. While we live in comfort of a great Mountain View. A wonderful lakefront home. Where we get away from the city to quiet, and peaceful places. Now these beautiful animals are faced with having to share their homes with us. They are evolving, and adapting to live near humans and even visit homes because they know they’ll find food in the garbage. If people are unwilling to handle the sightings of black bears, or any other wildlife why come live near them ?! Wildlife should not pay the price of human luxury. We need to be the voice for this bear. There should be a relocation instead of euthanasia. The animal is not a threat. It has to be an option to safely relocate Yogi. Bear League is said to know of two sanctuaries willing to take him. Tahoe Keys Property owners all voted to allow traps to be put in place ,and have him euthanized. We need to relocate Yogi!! Not euthanize him. Wildlife officials should agree to transport to one of these sanctuaries. Please help us save Yogi.
