The Brandon Planning and Zoning Commission has already approved a rezone for a piece of land owned by Alliance near the corner of Park Street and Sioux Boulevard. The rezone will allow a Sioux Falls-based construction company to build a new cell phone tower on the site.

This land is located directly across the street from Robert Bennis Elementary and down the street from Brandon Valley Intermediate School.

Allowing a cell phone tower so close to the school premises and homes of this neighborhood raises significant safety concerns.

There are alternative locations that could serve the community’s technological needs without compromising the well-being and safety of our children and local residents. Relocating the proposed tower further away from schools and homes would be a responsible action by local authorities.

Please sign this petition and join us in urging the Brandon City Council to direct the Sioux Falls-based Elevated Towers construction company to explore alternative, safer options that do not put our community at risk or disrupt our neighborhoods.
