Our small village of Kilbrin, County Cork, Ireland is home to a close-knit community. We live less than 100ft from a towering 30m 5G mast that has been erected in our local GAA grounds. This mast is not only an eyesore in our picturesque village but also raises concerns among many residents about potential health implications.

The World Health Organization states that while no adverse health effects have been established as being caused by mobile phone use, further research is needed on the long-term heavy use of mobile phones (WHO, Fact Sheet N°193). With this uncertainty and the proximity of the mast to our homes and community spaces, we believe it's prudent for it to be relocated.

We are not against technological progress or improved connectivity. However, we strongly feel that such infrastructure should be placed in less populated areas where they won't disrupt local life or cause unnecessary worry among residents.
