Pleasant City is a historic residential neighborhood where families are raising children, homeowners are investing in their properties, seniors deserve to feel secure, and an elementary school serves children in the heart of our community.

While we recognize the need for services that assist individuals experiencing homelessness, high-volume feeding and service operations are not appropriate for a residential neighborhood. Residents have experienced ongoing concerns related to increased loitering, litter and food waste, trespassing, disruptive activity, sanitation, and public safety. These conditions negatively impact the quality of life of the families and residents who call Pleasant City home.

This petition is not asking for services to end. We are asking for them to be relocated.

The presence of an elementary school makes responsible placement even more important. Children should be able to travel to and from school, play outside, and move throughout their neighborhood in a safe and appropriately maintained environment.

We are asking the The Mayor, City Council members and Housing Authority to work with local developers to help relocate high-volume homeless feeding and service operations out of Pleasant City's residential area. This is about public safety, neighborhood quality of life, and fairness to the residents who live here.
