The Issue

In the heart of Downtown Vancouver, our community once enjoyed the tranquility of a quiet street and a clean environment. However, with the recent installation of an E-scooter station right in front of our building, this peace has been severely disrupted. The daily commotion of scooters being operated and parked, coupled with the heaps of garbage they leave in their wake, has greatly affected our quality of life.

Living in this vibrant city, we understand the push towards sustainable transport options like E-scooters, but the choice of location for these stations is crucial. Our street has transformed into a noisy hub, disturbing the peace we cherished and filling our surroundings with litter that wasn't a problem before. The constant noise is not only an annoyance, but it also affects the health and well-being of residents who chose this area for its serenity.

Moreover, the presence of garbage strewn around the E-scooter station detracts from the aesthetic appeal of our neighborhood. It is unsightly for residents and visitors alike, painting an inaccurate picture of our usually immaculate street culture. This is not just a question of aesthetics or noise; it's about preserving the community values and lifestyle that our neighborhood stands for.

We are calling upon the City of Vancouver to relocate the E-scooter station to a more suitable location that does not directly impact residential life. Possible alternatives include nearby commercial areas or public spaces designed to accommodate such activity without imposing on local residents.

By moving the station, Vancouver can continue to support eco-friendly transportation initiatives while respecting the rights and quality of life of its residents. This change will help maintain the delicate balance between fostering innovation and maintaining the community spirit that makes Downtown Vancouver a cherished place to live.

Join us in urging local authorities to reconsider the placement of this E-scooter station. Together, let's work towards a solution that benefits both sustainable transport initiatives and the residents of our beautiful city. Please sign this petition to help restore peace and cleanliness to our neighborhood.
