We, the residents of Dharwad city, appeal to the local government to consider our request to shift the slaughter house and mutton market to the outskirts of our city. The operation of these facilities within our city not only contributes to unpleasant odors and unhygienic conditions but also contributes to disturbing the peace of our residential areas, and affects the quality of life of the city residents.

Statistics show that residential areas close to such facilities face a 20% drop in property values, and a rise in health issues due to the poor quality of air (Source: National Bureau for Economic Research, and the Journal of Environmental Health).

Moreover, moving these operations to the outskirts of the city will also be beneficial for the workers in the slaughter house and mutton market, as they would have more space to work and possibly improved working conditions.
