Relocate Bus Stops Away from Main Roadways in Red Deer, AB

The Issue

I am a resident of Red Deer, AB, deeply concerned about the current location of our bus stops. They are situated on main roadways which leads to increased traffic congestion and heightens the risk of collisions. This is not just an inconvenience; it's a serious safety issue that affects us all.

My grandfather was mayor of Red Deer for over ten years and made this city a great place to live. Over the years, I’ve seen the city ruined by poor decisions.

Red Deer is known for its commitment to community safety and efficient transportation. However, having bus stops on main roadways, especially on 30th Ave and 67th St, contradicts this commitment. It slows down traffic flow and creates unnecessary risks for both motorists and pedestrians alike.

We propose that city officials consider relocating these bus stops to safer areas off main roads. By doing so, we can reduce traffic congestion and potentially decrease the chance of accidents related to public transit. Collector roads fit this purpose and would promote better traffic flow on arterial routes.

This change will not only improve daily commutes but also contribute significantly towards making Red Deer a safer place for everyone who lives here or visits our beautiful city.

Please sign this petition if you agree that we need to prioritize safety over convenience when it comes to our public transport system in Red Deer. Together we can make a difference!
