The science labs at James B. Conant High School in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, currently keep live animals in small and inhumane environments. As compassionate community members, we believe that the ethical treatment of animals is of utmost importance. Animals deserve to live and thrive in the most careful of habitats, free from the stress and discomfort of lab environments. Moreover, we as students hate to see the amount that these creatures suffer daily, without a person to care for them truly. Therefore, we urge the D211 School District to immediately remove animals from the labs at James B. Conant High School and ensure they are appropriately and safely rehomed.
