Living in a neighborhood that thrives with cultural diversity is a blessing embraced by all who call it home. We are surrounded by families, respect each other's unique cultural heritage, and treasure our community's unity. However, the introduction of an ABC liquor store in our locale threatens this harmony, sending an unwelcomed and disconcerting message.

Our community is made up of three well-established neighborhoods, predominantly consisting of black and minority residents. Unfortunately, the current location of the liquor store in the strip mall is disturbing and often misrepresents the character of our neighbourhoods. The presence of such an establishment can inadvertently contribute to negative stereotypes that have no place in our community.

Critically, there are more appropriate locations closer to the interstate, such as gas stations or other businesses, that would be more fitting for a liquor store and take it out of the heart of our neighborhood. Housing such a business within the community’s core does not align with our communal vision of a safe, nurturing, and encouraging environment for families and children.

The wellbeing and perception of our neighborhood should not be compromised for commercial convenience. We urge local authorities and business owners to reconsider the placement of this liquor store. A move would reflect positively on the social dynamics of the neighborhood and resonate with the values of diversity and respect that we hold dear.

Please sign this petition to support the relocation of the ABC liquor store to an area that respects and protects the integrity of our neighborhood. Your signature can help ensure our neighborhood remains a place where everyone feels proud to belong.
