Relief Aid to Jamaica

Relief Aid to Jamaica
The Issue
We are calling on the UK government to act with empathy and fairness by increasing the amount of 7.5 Million to 20 Million pounds Relief Aid to Jamaica. This is a moment to stand together and shown that unity across borders can lead to impactful and positive change for both Jamaica and the UK
After World War II, the contribution of Jamaican and Caribbean people to the United Kingdom was monumental. As part of the Windrush generation, they helped rebuild a war-torn England, fostering growth and diversity in the UK, and laying down a foundation for future prosperity. It is only fair that we acknowledge this historical debt and offer support when it is critically needed.
Currently, the relief aid allocated by the UK government to Jamaica falls short of addressing the myriad of challenges the island nation faces, including natural disasters, economic instability, and health crises. According to publicly available data, this fund is insufficient for long-term recovery and development. To truly be an ally, the UK must reassess its aid, adjusting it to reflect not only the historical sacrifices made but also the potential for a mutually beneficial future.
Your support is crucial in this ongoing journey to ensure justice and equity for all who have contributed to the strength of the UK, both past and present. Sign the petition today, However please donate directly to Jamaica Red Cross which will make a positive impact on hundreds of Jamaican people's lives.
All donations should go directly to Jamaican Red Cross.
Please donate to Jamaica | Hurricane Melissa | Disaster Fund"as donations given on this platform are used to promote the petition only, victims will not benefit.
