Petition to reinstate Permission to Officiate for Rev Sue Parfitt.

Revd Sue Parfitt was one of the first women to be admitted into the priesthood 30 years ago. She has recently been told that her licence will not be renewed because of her climate activism.

We, the undersigned, request that the Bishop of Bristol  

• reinstates Rev Sue Parfitt’s Permission to Officiate
  
  
• renews the strong support she has previously given to Sue in her truth telling about the climate crisis over the years, including the times when Sue has engaged in acts of civil disobedience
  
  and
  
  
• shows the Church’s preparedness to be prophetic, and take a strong lead in demanding significant change in government policy and action on the climate crisis.
