Be transparent with user data usage, stop tampering with usage statistics

The Issue

Now, not to say, the human life is dependent on internet. Greedy service providers want to take advantage of this situation. Nominal service tariffs are okay. But they should not be allowed to tamper with the data usage statistics and squeeze money out of the users. Data usage records should be visible to the users at any given moment and printable data usage records should be available when requested.

We are freelance designers. We use a Reliance Netconnect with 10 GB monthly quota. Our billing cycle start on 20th of every month.

Some months back we noticed our data usage is enormously bloated. We started keeping an eye on the company's data usage monitoring system

Whenever we start netconnect it used to show the netconnect home page and our usage status. It used to show how many MBs we have already consumed. Seemingly Netconnect has manipulated the system and it started showing 'No data available' during the first 15 days of the billing cycle. That is 20th of the month to 4th of the next month (in our case).

From the next day onward Netconnect displays a message something like 'You have consumed all your allotted quota, you can continue using netconnect in reduced speed or top up (paying additional charges)'

In effect, what Netconnect is doing is keeping the users in the dark about the data usage in the first half of the billing cycle, then announce all of a sudden you have consumed all your quota and prompting for a top up paying additional charges.

Not to say this is an unethical practice.

Please keep the data usage transparent.

1) The user should be able to see his usage status at any given moment.

2) Whenever Netconnect is started, the system should send a TILL NOW USAGE STATUS to the user's registered email ID

3) The user should have access to his usage records, clearly showing his Usage sessions With Starting of the session, and ending of the session.
