Jio is using False/ Misleading Representations and Deceptive Marketing Practices for JioFiber. Jio made various promises related to JioFiber during it's launch and in advertisements and while Jio has launched commercial plans for JioFiber the reality doesn't seem to reflect to what they promised during launch and in advertisements. Various services are not yet available while some different from what they promised. Various complaints are already registered on JioFiber while various are available on multiple media platforms. Mentioning below various promises made by Jio V/s what product is given to customers.

1. Network Speeds:-

Promised: 100Mbps starting connection speed without mention of any Download/ Upload capping during launch.

Reality: Upload speeds are capped at 20% of connection speed for paid users. (20Mbps for a 100Mbps connection)


2. Jio STB:-

Promised: 4k STB with tie-ups from local cable operators for live TV, MR based Gaming Platform, video calling with conferencing and subscription to various OTT apps.

Reality:- Different type of STBs are provided to different customers . Some have Hybrid STB while some have IPTV STB.

. For Hybrid STB separate cable connection is required. This runs on latest Android 9.0.

. The IPTV box have limited no. of channels through various OTT apps like JioTV+ Voot, Hotstar, Zee5, Sony liv and all of the channels play in 480p. There's no point of 4k STB. This runs on android 7.0

. Jio Games and TV Video Calling/ Conferencing: Jio Games is basically a game store for basic android games. No console quality, Mixed Reality, multiplayer, 4k or zero latency gaming is provided. No app for Video Calling or conferencing available yet in any STB.

. OTT Apps: OTT apps are available but only plans from Silver and above get subscription to OTT apps, Bronze plan don't have OTT apps subscription.

3. Different set of Jio Routers:-

Basically there are three different types of router available to customers, two with Dual band WiFi and one with Single band WiFi.

. Customers who paid 4500 for connection from mid 2018-mid 2019 have white router with Dual band 2.5/5ghz band support.

. Customers who paid 2500 from mid 2019-commercial launch have black router with only 2.5ghz band support.

. Customers who bought paid plans have new blue router with both 2.5/5ghz band support while technically every customer should be migrated to new blue routers for uniform practices.

. Various issues are raised by customers every day. While it's not possible to reflect all problems here, main issues were provided here.
