Petition for the Release of the Pittsfield High School Investigation Report

To: Pittsfield Public Schools Administration and the Pittsfield School Committee

We, the undersigned parents, guardians, students, alumni, taxpayers, and community members, respectfully request the release of information regarding the completed investigation involving a teacher at Pittsfield High School.

As members of the community, we believe transparency is essential to maintaining public trust in our school system. While we recognize the importance of protecting legally confidential personnel information and student privacy, we also believe that parents and community members deserve a clear understanding of how concerns are investigated and resolved when they involve individuals entrusted with the education and well-being of our children.

This petition is not intended to prejudge any individual or assume wrongdoing. Rather, it seeks accountability, transparency, and reassurance that appropriate procedures were followed throughout the investigation process.

We respectfully request that Pittsfield Public Schools:

Release any portions of the investigation report that can legally be disclosed.
Provide a public the report of the investigation’s findings and conclusions.
Explain any actions taken as a result of the investigation, to the extent permitted by law.
Commit to transparent communication with parents and the community regarding matters that affect student safety, trust, and confidence in the school system.
Public confidence in our schools depends on openness and accountability. We believe that providing as much information as legally possible will help strengthen trust between Pittsfield Public Schools and the families they serve.
