Release Harrison G. Kamau on Supervision/Bond and Reconsider his I-246

The Issue

This is a petition in respect of Harrison Kamau who was detained by the Immigration and Customs  Enforcement officers on Wednesday, 29th March 2023. Harrison has been in the United States for 15 years and is a person of good moral character and has significant connections in the local community. This country has been a refuge for Harrison and his family for the sufferings they endured in Kenya and continue to fear its repetition if they are removed to Kenya. He has  maintained a job throughout his period of stay in the US and before his detention has been working  for the State of Washington at the Western State Hospital. He filed his taxes and owned property  in Tacoma. He has no criminal history and has been an invaluable member of the Tacoma  community, and others at large. He has been a dedicated Christian, member of a Church and a reliable man always ready to contribute his part with good grace. His contribution and place in  our society is greatly impacted by his detention and will be a devastating loss if he is removed from  the United States. We believe that there could be alternatives to his detention.

We, the undersigned, therefore, respectfully call on the Immigration and Customs Enforcement  office District Director to consider this petition requesting a halt to his removal by reconsidering  his request for stay of removal and release him from detention on either supervision or on  reasonable bond. Harrison has complied with his prior electronic monitoring and is not a flight risk or danger to the community or peoples’ property.
