Release Ghani Aman, Sindhi Student Leader. Stop Enforced Disappearances in Sindh, Pakistan
The Issue
We, the undersigned, strongly condemn the enforced disappearance of Mr. Ghani Aman, Chief Organizer of the Sindhian National Students Federation (SNSF), a student front of the Sindhian National Congress.
According to verified reports, today on the evening of October 28, 2025, Mr. Ghani Aman was abducted by Pakistani security forces from Memona Hospital, located on Shahrah-e-Quaideen/Tariq Road, Karachi, while attending to his twin children admitted there.
Eyewitnesses report that men in civilian clothes, backed by Ranger’s personnel, entered the hospital, harassed and intimidated the people present, and forcibly took away Mr. Aman. During the incident, the abductors also seized mobile phones belonging to Mr. Ghani Aman, his brother Safi Aman, his sister Sindhu Aman, and other relatives. Mr. Aman was reportedly tortured, blindfolded, and taken away to an undisclosed location.
Mr. Ghani Aman is a non-violent political activist who has consistently advocated for human rights and political freedom in Sindh. His entire family has a long history of peaceful human rights engagement. His sister, Sindhu Aman, serves as the Vice Convener of the Voice for Missing Persons of Sindh (VMPS) and has been actively working for justice for the disappeared persons in Sindh.
We view this abduction as a gross violation of human rights and an act of state repression aimed at silencing peaceful dissent.
We urgently appeal to: Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP) The Hague Netherlands, International Coalition Against Enforced Disappearances (ICAED), Geneva, Switzerland Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearances, and international human rights organizations and democratic governments to Condemn this enforced disappearance publicly, call upon the Government of Pakistan to disclose Mr. Ghani Aman’s whereabouts, ensure his immediate and safe release, and hold those responsible accountable under international law.
Enforced disappearances are crimes against humanity. Silence and inaction will only embolden further abuses.
We stand with the family of Ghani Aman and all victims of enforced disappearances in Sindh and Pakistan.
Let us unite our voices to demand Justice, Accountability, and Freedom for Ghani Aman.
Please Sign this petition to call for immediate international intervention.
