Release Christina Pasion!
The Issue
Sign the petition to demand the release of Christina Pasion!
On July 30, The Philippine government maliciously detained Filipino activists Christina Pasion and Binay Serano in Cabuyao City, Laguna to paint the narrative that activists are collaborating with the NPA. It is no surprise that the AFP and NTF-ELCAC continue to harass, detain, torture, and kill activists who are doing nothing more than learning from and supporting the interests of the masses!
Leguna is home to a variety of Special Economic Zones which are notorious for exploitative conditions, depressing wages, and union-busting. The people within these zones are entrenched in overwhelming poverty and abhorrent dehumanization.
Christina, a daughter of migrant health care workers, acknowledged and witnessed the suffering of kababayan through her family. She understood that her family's story was similar to many others, confronting the question: what conditions force Filipinos to go abroad and uproot themselves from their loved ones to search for better livelihood?
It is not a crime to return to the Philippines, learn about the issues of the broad masses, and advocate for them.
Please sign the petition to raise awareness and pressure local/national legislature to demand the release of Christina Pasion!
