I started this petition after finding out that my OSAP funding was affected even though I had already been approved. Like many Ontario students, I planned my education and finances around funding I was told I would receive.

This isn’t just affecting me. Other students are facing uncertainty about funding they depend on for tuition, housing, groceries, transportation, childcare and other essential expenses.

Many of us have already started our programs. We followed the application process, met the requirements and made important decisions based on our OSAP funding.

We understand that legitimate concerns involving public funding need to be investigated. But students who followed the rules should not be financially harmed because of circumstances outside their control.

We are asking the Ontario government to protect affected students, provide clear answers and timelines, and release funding to students who were already approved and remain eligible.

Students should not be forced to choose between paying their bills and continuing their education while they wait for answers.

Our education matters. Our future matters. Ontario students deserve answers.
