Please release an extended cut of Doctor Who: The Power of the Doctor

The issue

Disclaimer: This is entirely assuming that the dialogue and cut footage from the script exists, hence the idea of an extended cut. Not requiring any new footage, just a re-edit of what didn't make the final 90 minute cut.

Firstly, I want to emphasise how incredible of a job Chris Chibnall and the production team of Doctor Who have done over the last 3 years. Working all the way through the pandemic. Chris Chibnall, Jodie Whittaker, Mandip Gill, John Bishop, Matt Strevens, Jamie Magnus Stone and Azhur Saleem have brought us 9 magnificent episodes of the show, from a swashbuckler in 19th century China, to a Master Dalek-plan, the last year of stories have been truly wonderful.

The purpose of this petition is not to downplay how amazing of a job the Doctor Who team have put together, but rather to celebrate their work and incredible efforts!

Last month, Doctor Who: The Power of the Doctor was aired on BBC One in the United Kingdom. Almost instantly the episode was met with praise for it's beautiful conclusion to the current era, and it's brilliant celebration of the show's history, which itself is a major part of the BBC's history.

Roughly two weeks later on 5th November 2022, the script for the episode was released on the BBC Writers Room website, and fans instantly spotted many changes to the script, primarily dialogue from companions, villains and everything in between that provided further backstory and context. Even an entire scene being written as "OMITTED".

So, why sign this petition? Simple. So that we can further celebrate the incredible era that has been the Chibnall era. If enough signatures are collected, I do believe that potentially the BBC might consider releasing an extended cut. This cut would include whatever deleted scenes a dialogue were cut (to an extent, as some scenes would have been cut not for time, but more a different purpose such as whether or not it was too frightening, like having the Dalek tentacles bind the Doctor in the casing, or simple exclusion of expository dialogue), giving us a further scope of the Master's Dalek Plan, and much more content surrounding Yaz, the companion support group, and the Spy Dalek!

Even potentially in a deleted scene format on the blu-ray when it is released. I think that these scenes could add a lot to the story.

Once more I would like to thank Chris Chibnall, Jamie Magnus Stone and the entire cast and crew for their work on this special, and would like to emphasise on how incredible of a job they have done!
