Who He Is
Amson Charleston is a long‑time Pennsylvania resident who has lived under asylum protection since childhood. He grew up in our community, attended local schools, and earned his degree in Computer Information Systems from Central Penn College.
Amson has built decades of strong ties in South‑Central Pennsylvania. He serves as an Information Technology Specialist at Lincoln Charter School, provides interpreter and translator support for the York City School District, and coaches youth athletes through two Keystone club soccer teams and York Country Day School. His leadership has helped strengthen families, build confidence in young people, and support the stability of our local schools and sports programs.
His recent detention by ICE — despite no public‑safety risk — is already affecting students, youth athletes, and families who rely on him. Families have contacted Rep. Scott Perry, Sen. John Fetterman, and Sen. Dave McCormick requesting intervention and an expedited review.
