Rejection Of The Eastern Cape ANC PTT

Rejection Of The Eastern Cape ANC PTT
The Issue
We, the members of the African National Congress, Voters and concerned citizens of the Eastern Cape, strongly reject the so-called Eastern Cape Provincial Task Team allegedly inaugurated by the ANC Secretary-General, Fikile Mbalula.
This PTT does not represent the collective will, unity, and democratic traditions of the ANC in the Eastern Cape. Instead, it is widely perceived as endorsing and advancing a factional slate that seeks to divide the movement and undermine internal democracy within the organization.
As loyal members and supporters of the ANC, we believe that the movement must remain guided by its constitutional principles, organizational discipline, unity, transparency, and the interests of the people rather than factional interests. The manner in which this PTT has been constituted has created serious concerns among branches, members, alliance partners, and communities across the province.
We therefore call for the urgent intervention of the National Executive Committee of the ANC to:
• Review and reverse the decision surrounding the inauguration of the Eastern Cape PTT.
• Ensure that all organizational processes are fair, democratic, consultative, and free from factional manipulation.
• Restore unity, credibility, and confidence within the ANC structures in the Eastern Cape.
• Protect the integrity of the movement and uphold the values upon which the ANC was founded.
The ANC belongs to its members and the people of South Africa, not to factions or slates. We demand leadership that unites rather than divides the movement. Forward to unity. Forward to organizational renewal. Forward to a democratic ANC.
