Reject Trump’s Disinformation—Remove the False Climate Report from Federal Policy

Reject Trump’s Disinformation—Remove the False Climate Report from Federal Policy
The Issue
More than 85 scientists from around the world have spoken out against a new Trump administration climate report—calling it scientifically flawed, misleading, and politically driven.
This report, released by the Department of Energy under Energy Secretary Chris Wright, downplays the economic and environmental risks of climate change, misquotes key research, omits critical data, and uses cherry-picked statistics to push a fossil fuel agenda.
It’s already being used to justify rolling back key protections on greenhouse gas emissions—despite the fact that its authors reject the scientific consensus on climate change and bypassed any legitimate peer review process.
This isn’t a difference of opinion. It’s disinformation disguised as policy—and it has no place in federal climate strategy.
We are calling on the Department of Energy, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and members of Congress to:
- Officially reject the climate report as invalid for policymaking
- Prohibit the report from being used to justify deregulation or weaken the 2009 “endangerment finding”
- Require future federal climate reports to undergo independent, peer-reviewed scientific validation.
This report is already being weaponized to delay action on climate change, undermine public trust, and roll back years of progress. The stakes are too high to let this disinformation stand.
