Reject the New City of Hawthorne Paid Parking Plan and Pilot Program.

Reject the New City of Hawthorne Paid Parking Plan and Pilot Program.
The Issue
No one wants to pay for parking to go shopping, work, visit a new business, take kids to their after-school program, exercise, go to the Hawthorne School District, bank, etc.... The proposed paid parking plan by the Hawthorne City Council would inconvenience residents, neighbors, and local businesses, deterring people from visiting the city and patronizing local establishments.
Parking should not be a barrier to accessing essential services and activities that contribute to the livelihood of our community. The new plan will impose an unnecessary financial burden on families and individuals who already feel the pressures of rising living costs. Local businesses, which form the backbone of our economy, depend on accessibility to thrive. Introducing parking fees could lead to reduced customer footfall and, in turn, economic downturns for businesses trying to recover post-pandemic.
Please join us in urging the Hawthorne City Council to reconsider this plan. Our community deserves better than being charged to park and enjoy the city we call home. Sign this petition to protect our access and our economy.
