Reject the Appointment of Kelly Diamond as New Director of IACS
The Issue
As individuals who deeply care about the welfare of animals, it saddens us to witness the distressing conditions they are exposed to under the management of Kelly Diamond. We have found that the number of animals suffering, and even dying, has significantly increased since Diamond took control. This documented observation paints a heart rending picture of the grim reality. Her management style, evidently, prioritizes administrative processes over the wellbeing of the animals in her care, leading to their suffering. Therefore, we vehemently oppose her being appointed as the new Director of IACS. Voting against her appointment is a crucial step toward ensuring proper care and consideration for our helpless animal friends. We urge everyone with a heart for animals to make their voices heard and sign this petition against the appointment of Kelly Diamond. Your support can bring about change and start the journey towards a better life for these animals.
This is Leela. Here is her story...
"🚨 Leela is Fighting for Her Life—Please Help Her Win.🚨
This is Leela.💔 Leela was found by two good Samaritans wandering in a Marion County cemetery on February 14. She was taken to IACS where the medical team noted that: Leela had a body score of 1—a level so severe that it typically means death. She was covered in sores, severely dehydrated, so weak she couldn't walk, and her bloodwork indicated her life was in danger. As you can see from these photos, Leela arrived at death's door. She was starving to death. She was freezing to death. She was being eaten alive by fleas. She was suffering beyond measure.
The decision was made by IACS management to have Leela wait out her 4 day stray hold period without seeking emergency medical care, or assistance from another organization. Without question, it was the love of IACS staff who work on the frontlines each day that kept this little girl alive.
An IACS volunteer texted photos of Leela to our CEO here at Humane Society for Hamilton County on Monday night. Our CEO proactively reached out to IACS on Tuesday to see if Leela was still alive. A Facetime introduction with Leela made it very clear that while she is incredibly sick, her eyes were filled with hope and the sound of her thumping tail was all we needed to hear! Leela is a fighter.
We initiated the transfer process, and at the end of her 4 day hold yesterday at 6PM, the IACS team launched into action to get Leela transported to the ER for emergency care.
Our friends at VCA started supportive care and gave Leela a blood transfusion as she was incredibly anemic from fleas and likely other parasite infestation. She is receiving an ultrasound today to make sure there's nothing internally going on and will continue receiving supportive care for at least 48 hours, probably longer.
At this point, we expect her life-saving care to exceed $8,000, and she is not out of danger.
We have witnessed this community come together before to save lives, and now we are asking you to do it again—for Leela.
Please donate to our Survivor Program in Leela's name. Every dollar makes a difference, and you could be the reason she gets to continue her fight.

Even if you can't donate, please share Leela's story. She deserves to know love, warmth, and kindness—things she has been denied for far too long.
Thank you for standing with us, for standing with Leela. We will keep you updated on her fight. 💕🐾"
