The under-signed, who are residents of, or visitors to, Lund, Lockington, Beswick and Kilnwick, strongly object to the proposed establishment of an industrial scale egg unit in open countryside on Bracken Lane in Lund Parish. This development would have a severely negative impact on the community and the environment.

Its scale and appearance would have a detrimental effect on the character of the local area. Emissions of particulates and ammonia will pose health risks to local residents and users of the public footpath and the national cycle route adjacent to the site. The local roads are too narrow for the HGVs that would service the site causing maintenance and safety issues. Run-off will pose a risk to local waterways and biodiversity.

All the villages will be affected, but we have particular concern for residents directly adjacent to the proposed site who will be most severely impacted.

We urge ERYC to carefully consider the strength of these local concerns and to reject any planning application for this unit.
