🚨 UPDATE: LAWN ON MAIN NEEDS YOUR HELP
We need to be clear: we cannot let Lawn on Main become a business plaza. Stone Mountain’s own Green Space (GS) rules were created to protect land and discourage commercial development. The ordinance even describes the purpose of this protection as “in perpetuity.”
So why is commercial development being considered now?
The City should not be looking for a way around its own greenspace protections. Before anything moves forward, residents deserve answers about:
• Why was this land acquired?
• Are there deed, covenant, or other permanent restrictions on the property?
• What agreements already exist between the City, DDA, Mayor, Council and developer?
• What will this development cost taxpayers in roads, traffic, parking, stormwater, and public services?
• Who stands to financially benefit from this deal?
And we are asking for full transparency about potential conflicts of interest involving anyone participating in the decision. This is not an accusation. It is a request for the public to know who has financial, business, contractual, family, or other connections that could create an appearance of a conflict.

The Council may not listen to residents—but the press might.
Please contact local and Atlanta-area news outlets and tell them:
“Stone Mountain is considering commercial development on Lawn on Main, publicly held greenspace. Residents are asking why the City is pursuing development despite its GS greenspace protections and are demanding transparency about the property's funding, restrictions, agreements, and potential conflicts of interest.”
