Data centers, require massive amounts of energy and water to operate, leading to significant carbon emissions and water usage. Constructing such a facility in Evanston could dramatically alter our environmental footprint, contradicting the sustainable values we hold dear.
Moreover, the aesthetic and structural changes required for such a large-scale development could overrun our charming neighborhoods with increased traffic and noise pollution while increasing residents utility bills, for sure.
Evanston is known for championing green initiatives, like the Climate Action and Resilience Plan, which targets carbon neutrality by 2050.
