Reject BAYVIEW INWOOD LLC's Application for a Building Zone Ordinance Change in Hempstead

Reject BAYVIEW INWOOD LLC's Application for a Building Zone Ordinance Change in Hempstead
The Issue
As homeowners in the Town of Hempstead, we have invested our hard-earned money into residential properties with the hope of a good quality of life and prime capital return. The application by BAYVIEW INWOOD LLC for a change in the Building Zone Ordinance from residence “B” District to Light Manufacturing “LM” District is threatening this investment. This change would permit vehicle storage of dump trucks and associated site work within just a 20ft radius of our homes.
Allowing a Dump Truck Storage facility to open so close to our homes would be detrimental to both our property value and quality of life. The thought of Dump trucks that close to resident's homes immediately raises concerns about potential health risks, environmental damage, unpleasant odors, pest problems, increased presence of flies and mosquitos, as well as potential dangers posed to our children because the intersection of Bayview Ave and Cherry Street is a Bus Stop to Lawrence High School Students and Lawrence Middle School Students. That intersection is already over congested with trucks due to Five Star Cargo adding another fleet of trucks would be disastrous.
We ask The Town Board of the Town of Hempstead not just as homeowners but also as concerned citizens who care deeply about maintaining the residential character and safety standards in Inwood. We urge you to reject this application under Section 273 Article 28 which threatens not only our investments but also disrupts the peace and harmony that currently exists within this community.
Please stand with us against this proposed zoning change that could irreversibly impact all aspects of life here in Inwood. Sign this petition today!
