If Jimmie Tate gets his way the Jungle Queen and the Fishing Fleet will get kicked out off of their ideal spot on Seabreeze Boulevard and stuck in the North side of the Marina. Tate plans to fill in “A” Dock with concrete, where the fishing fleet is now and create a “Fishing Village”. Only thing is there won’t be any fishing boats there. Only more t-shirt shops. For decades, every evening 7 days a week, 100’s Of locals and tourists alike have been lining up at sunset to take the popular Jungle Queen dinner cruise upriver. Tate, Seiler, Rogers and Mckinzie say the Public has no access to the water now? Where the hell have they been? The fishing fleet thrives on the visibility of their location right on Seabreeze for picking up business and the view of the fishing boats added to the ambiance. But no more. They’ll be tucked away back in the marina out of sight of the public. .Anyone going fishing or taking a ride on the Jungle Queen will now have to drive onto Bahia Mar into the underground garage. Pay more for parking and take more time to walk to the boats, compared to now where most park in the South Beach Lot and cross the street to the boats. Worse, the boats will be replaced with T-shirt shops and the view of the boats from AIA at Sunset will be gone forever. Good job boys.
