Petition updateSTOP THE BAHIA MAR FIASCO AND THE WAVE TROLLEY FOLLYWHO PAYS FOR THE LOSSES IF BAHIA MAR FAILS?

Citizens Against Bahia Mar Fiasco
Nov 26, 2017
Under the Bahia Mar lease, the City only gets 4.25% of revenues. That’s on a good day.
The Developer/Leaseholder admitted they could make $1-2 Billion. But no one is talking about who bears the risk of loss if the Development fails.
Folks, it’s the taxpayers, who will be left holding the bag:
- if the projected 10 year construction project encounters cost overruns and delays;
- if the beach real estate market falls apart;
- if hurricanes devastate the narrow and vulnerable beach and marina area.
- if a serious recession takes its toll.
All of these IFS have happened during the last 10 years and statistically they will occur again in the next 10 years.
Can Fort Lauderdale Taxpayers afford the inevitable bail out?
THE RISK IS NOT WORTH THE REWARD!
