Please, would someone send us an email who supports the Bahia Mar Proposal! Here’s the email StopBahiaMar@gmail.com The only supporters we can find are those that Little Jimmie Tate and his Miami buddies bus in and pay (and provide a free t-shirt) to attend the Hearings. The other handful are all Tate employees, family members, contractors, drinking pals or others who have some vested interest in the project. Oh, and there are a few from the local mental ward because you have to be crazy to support this project. The problem is that at least three Commissioners think there is support for this project because they see in the Commision Chamber a bunch of colorful T-shirts, with a catchy slogan, left over from one of Tate’s Miami Hearings. Herein is the problem. The future of the barrier island, or what is left of it, is in the hands of a two or three hack politicians who won’t even be in office a few months from now, much less be around to be accountable for the financial and environmental Fiasco they are creating. This land is Public Land. It is OUR LAND! How dare these politicians usurp the rights of the Citizens and Taxpayers to decide the fate of Bahia Mar.
