REISSUE THE NOVELS LEGEND OF HUMA & KAZ THE MINOTAUR IN PAPER
Although both of these novels --- among the bestselling and best-known of the saga beyond those written by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman --- can be found in ebook and audio, there has been a clear demand for some sort of paper version for many years. THE LEGEND OF HUMA is a NY TIMES Bestseller itself, one of the few novels in Dragonlance, other than the core ones, to achieve that.
The purpose of this petition, set up by Richard A. Knaak --- the author of both --- is to encourage WOTC/Hasbro to either put together some print-on-demand version (either trade paperback or hardcover) or let the author coordinate such a version. The author has produced ebooks, trade paperbacks, and limited edition hardcovers for many of his works and, thus, is aware of how it can be done. WOTC/Hasbro need only supply him with the manuscripts for him to proceed.
To add a new element to these publications, the author would include a foreword by himself concerning the novels and/or a short story related to each novel that would be included in the new edition (these may or may not appear, depending on any agreement with the corporation and are only suggested). At the very least, a new edition reprinting the original novels would sell very well. The author has suggested print-on-demand since it would cost virtually nothing for the publisher and would leave the novel in print.
To add additional incentive, this petition is to be signed only by those who would purchase said new edition, with trade paperbacks likely $16.99 or $17.99. Limited edition hardcovers would be higher, of course.
If you or someone you know would DEFINITELY purchase a new LEGEND OF HUMA & KAZ THE MINOTAUR, this is the time. No promise is made; the author is doing this petition on his own with no tie whatsoever to WOTC/Hasbro. There is no promise of success. It is only hoped that the number of interested readers will stir action.
