The "Whittlesey Gap" is a locked door, and we have two keys to open it. Whether it's the "Express Route" or the "Double Rescue," the goal is the same: No more changing buses in the rain.
Option 1: The "X32 Express" Extension (The Speed Demon)
This is the most efficient way to fix the problem using what we already have.
• The Plan: Take the existing X32 and keep it going. Instead of stopping at the border, it charges into Peterborough.
• The Strategy: This would be a Limited Stop Service. It doesn’t stop at every house; it only hits the major "Power Hubs"—March Town Centre, Whittlesey, the City Hospital, the College, and Queensgate.
• Why it wins: It’s fast. It’s a "Rapid Link" that turns a 90-minute nightmare into a 35-minute commute. It’s for the people who need to be at work or in a lecture right now.
Option 2: The "Double Rescue" (The 33 & The Hospital Link)
This is a total system reboot that fixes the connections for everyone, not just the fast-movers.
• The 33 Extension: We bring the 33 back home to March. It restores the "Spine of the Fens," creating a reliable, high-frequency line that connects our towns directly to the City Centre.
• The Whittlesey-to-Hospital Link: To launch a brand-new, dedicated shuttle. This isn't for shopping; it's a lifeline. It takes you from Whittlesey straight to the Peterborough City Hospital doors.
• Why it wins: It covers everyone. It helps the elderly get to appointments and helps the students get to the city. It treats the Fens like a connected community, not a set of isolated islands.
