Reinstating Outdoor Furniture Licence

Reinstating Outdoor Furniture Licence
The Issue
We are The King’s Arms a small traditional Victorian pub based in London Bridge, bringing local customers British meals and much loved award winning real ales since 2015.
We are trying to petition the council to reinstate our outdoor seating opposite our pub, as well as for our neighbour Crol & Co.
(Crol & Co have also started a Southwark residence petition to have another fighting chance at being heard by Southwark Council, but this is limited to people who live within the Borough so we hope that this is a way we can reach our larger community)
This right was given to us during the pandemic, but was revoked on 19th May 2022. We were told that this was because, now the pandemic restrictions have been lifted, having customers cross the small lane is no longer acceptable.
We’ve spend years growing and cultivating our tight knit and loving community. Since we formed our beautiful outside seating area, we have transformed this once dark and uninviting street into a vibrant & safe space. It’s now an inviting environment brought to live with flowers, plant pots, umbrellas, tables and chairs.
Street crime has also since gone down and now people feel safer when walking through our streets. Locals and visitors alike loved visiting one of London’s hidden gems and sitting outside with their friends, family and animals.
We’re so proud of the community we’ve created which has now been needlessly taken away from us. Please help us in our fight to get back to heart of Newcomen Street!
