As evidenced during the beginning of the Coronavirus Pandemic in 2020, the less drivers on the roads means a smaller demand for fuel, which leads to lower gas prices, not to mention the positive environmental impact as a result of less fuel use.

To combat the rising prices of gas across the country due to the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine and the very real possibility of a supply shortage in the coming months, businesses should reinstate Work-from-Home policies for all of their non-essential employees to lessen the economic impact on individuals and families of essential workers who are required to work in-person and to curb the quickly inflating price of gas.

Hard working Americans have already proven that working from home is a feasible alternative to working in the office and it does little to impact the bottom line of their employer, shown by the record profits businesses have made since the onset of the pandemic.

It’s time for CEOs to do their part and allow their employees the option to return to a work-from-home routine for those employees who wish to take advantage of it.

Employees who were able to take advantage of work-from-home policies during the pandemic proved to be more productive, reported better mental and physical health, and it allows for more quality time with family, especially those with children.

The American economy was well on the way to recovery and helping middle and lower class Americans out in a time of financial need by removing the need to pay anywhere from $50 to $100 to fill up their gas tanks every week will only help to continue to grow our economy.
