The Labour controlled London Borough of Ealing, has not reinstated Ward Forums since they were suspended during the COVID-19 pandemic. This absence is a serious blow to local democracy. Ward forums play a fundamental role in encouraging the representative and advocacy role of local councillors, serving as a platform for community voices and ensuring the accountability of our local politicians. They are more than just gatherings; they are a lifeline to effective governance that allows residents to participate directly in neighbourhood issues. The closure of these forums has suppressed this crucial interactive process, preventing local residents from collaborating with their Ward Councillors. We urge the London Borough of Ealing to recognise the importance of these forums and to restore them immediately. This action is a crucial step for re-establishing the voice of residents across the 24 wards of Ealing.
