The Cleveland State University (CSU) wrestling team is not just a group of teammates, we embody the essence of a true family. Going far beyond the bonds forged by shared physical exertion; we are each other's best friends, mentors, and a continuous source of inspiration. Wrestling isn't just a sport to us - it's a commitment, a passion, and a lifestyle that we've dedicated countless hours to. From weekend long tournaments, to late night practices, we have given our lives to achieving our individual and collective goals. Goals that have the potential to inspire future generations of wrestlers.

 

However, our wrestling family at Cleveland State University is facing a heartbreaking reality. A decision was made to cut the wrestling, softball, and women's golf programs due to alleged funding issues - a decision that directly contradicts the statistics given by the university, indicating that the wrestling team operates at a net profit. We’ve made multiple attempts to get answers from CSU administrators but have been ignored and dismissed. This isn't just about reinstating a program. It's about preserving traditions, friendships, and futures of hardworking athletes in ALL SPORTS who've committed themselves to reach their full potential. We urge the administrators at CSU to reconsider their decision, communicate openly and honestly with the public, and support the right to follow their passion.
