📣 Clear your calendars for this Tuesday night. We’ve gathered NEW EVIDENCE showing that the district is not meeting the portion sizes it claims to be serving. Tuesday is our best chance to finally get change.
We have more photographic proof that directly contradicts the portion chart the district says it meets. That our lunches pale in comparison to other local districts that are under the NSLP. We will be providing some of this proof on Tuesday.
Here’s what this means:
➡️ Our kids have not been getting the full servings they’re entitled to under our district’s own guidelines. That is why your child keeps saying they are hungry and why you are paying for so many extras!
➡️ This is happening despite assurances from food services that all standards are being met.
➡️ Other neighboring districts have since found solutions for the issues of waste and local sourcing that were used to make the original opt out decision in 2013.
➡️ It’s time to rejoin the National School Lunch Program to not only ensure that our children are getting well balanced meals that meet the minimum nutritional standards, but also that Pittsford families can enjoy the same free meals that the rest of the state will. This may also reduce the number of unhealthy extras our children feel compelled to buy.
👥 That’s why we need YOU at the next school board meeting.
🗓 Date: Tuesday June 17th
🕒 Time: 7 pm
📍 Location: currently Barker Road School
We’re asking all petition supporters, concerned parents, and community members to show up in person. A strong turnout will send a clear message: we will not stay silent while our kids go underfed forcing our families to spend thousands on extras.
✊ Bring a friend. Bring your voice. Let’s make it clear that we expect better and we’re not backing down.
Thank you for continuing to stand up for our kids.
Let's do this together!
Thank you.
