I am a proud Mississippian, born and raised under the old state flag. For me, it was never about race or division; it represented our history and heritage. The decision to change this symbol of our state was made without a public vote, leaving many of us feeling unheard.

The old Mississippi State flag has been an emblem for over 126 years before its retirement in 2020. It is not just a piece of cloth but a part of who we are as Mississippians. We understand that symbols can carry different meanings for different people, but we believe in democratic processes and feel that such significant decisions should involve all citizens' voices.
