I am a pigeon lover, deeply saddened by the disdain and neglect these birds face today. Once, pigeons were our allies, serving us in wars and being an integral part of our lives. They were cherished and respected. Today, they are treated as pests; their presence is deemed an infestation.

We humans created this problem. We domesticated pigeons, took them from their natural habitats into our homes as pets, then released them back into the wild without equipping them with survival skills. These birds don't even know how to nest properly anymore.

Pigeon deterring architecture is on the rise while we ignore that it was us who took everything away from these creatures. They know nothing about how to exist or survive independently because we never gave them a chance to learn.

It's time we take responsibility for our actions and find a humane solution for housing pigeons comfortably without resorting to extermination methods. In the past, pigeon houses were common; reinstating such practices could be one way forward.

Let's not forget that these birds once fought alongside us in wars; they deserve respect and care rather than being treated like trash. Let's work together to restore dignity to pigeons' existence by treating them with kindness instead of contempt.
