For over 60 years, the College of Idaho Ski Team has been a symbol of excellence on the slopes and in the classroom. With a legacy that includes over 40 national championships and individual titles, the ski team has brought pride and recognition to our college, contributing to the rich athletic tradition of the Yotes.

Despite consistently meeting our fundraising goals, competing at the highest level in collegiate skiing, and maintaining strong academic performance, the ski team was cut without warning or clear justification. This decision was not based on financial necessity, we raised the money ourselves every year and required little institutional funding. It was a blow to student-athletes, alumni, and the wider College of Idaho community.

We, the undersigned, respectfully urge Athletic Director Reagan Rossi and the College of Idaho Board of Trustees to reinstate the ski team or, at minimum, publicly commit to a plan for its return in the coming academic year. We ask that the college honor the dedication of past and present athletes who have built a nationally respected program and that it recognize the value this team brings not just in trophies, but in student development and school pride.

Bring back the College of Idaho Ski Team. Uphold the legacy. Support the athletes. Preserve the spirit of competition and tradition that defines our school.
