Reinstate the Cat Neutering Assistance Scheme by the Cat's Protection League

Reinstate the Cat Neutering Assistance Scheme by the Cat's Protection League
The Issue
As a concerned citizen and an animal lover, I am deeply troubled by the recent decision of the Cat’s Protection League (CPL) to pause their cat neutering assistance scheme. This program was a lifeline for many small rescue groups who are now overwhelmed with cats and kittens, unable to afford neutering costs themselves. The result is an increase in unwanted kittens being abandoned and unneutered males spreading diseases among the cat population.
Neutering is universally agreed upon as a positive step towards controlling cat populations and preventing disease spread. Yet, despite this consensus, CPL has halted its program that provided vital assistance with these procedures. This decision seems even more unjustifiable considering that CPL spends significant amounts on non-essential activities such as rebranding and large wage bills.
The lack of transparency regarding why this beneficial scheme was paused is concerning, especially given that CPL has substantial reserves at its disposal. It's time for CPL to prioritize feline welfare over unnecessary expenditures.
We urge CPL to immediately reinstate their cat neutering assistance scheme - not just for the benefit of small rescues struggling under increasing pressure but also for overall feline health across our communities. Please sign this petition if you believe in putting cats' wellbeing first!
