There has been many changes to bus services throughout the years. The loss of the 18 bus has hit the hardest. With the 10/11 (18 replacement) no longer serving core destinations from the old 18 in west Bristol, and Emerson’s, Mangotsfield and Bromley Heath having little to no links to West Bristol, the 18 now is more vital than it has ever been before.

In addition to this, the current link between Downend, Bromley Heath and Parkway has been severely severed over recent years, with the 19 being cut down to hourly, frequently running with vehicles which don’t have the full capacity to load everyone on board - leaving to some being left behind. 

The other bus link - Service 534 - was introduced as a WESTlocal service, which was a step in the right direction - Well would have been if it ran more than 3 times in each direction and had weekend service.

Both the 19 and 534 are often at capacity - showing the need to bring a bus re-connecting West Bristol with Bromley Heath, Mangotsfield and Emerson’s Green. 

Re-instating the 18 is not only vital for direct hospital links, but for commuting to colleges, workplaces, and shopping.
