Many, many thanks to those of you who are supporting us in our efforts to ensure a Warminster location for Avenue Surgery patients when the mobile breast screening unit service returns in 2028.
This is a long way off and memories are sometimes short – and we do not know the future of NHS England so promises to review at that point may not be enough. To that end, I am working hard to bring this to the attention of bodies that will still be around in three years’ time and can be held accountable.
I have been asked when the petition will end – the answer is when we have a commitment from a viable and accountable source that a suitable Warminster location will be deemed the default location for the next round.
The past has shown that these bodies do listen to public opinion so we need to continue to apply the pressure of numbers of signatories. For those opting not to use IT, they can sign paper petition forms at The Athenaeum, Coates and Parker, the Wellbeing Hub, at the WAG House (behind the Old Bell) and at the Avenue Surgery.
