SlideOver alongside SplitView were one of the best features added to iPad and I, along with countless others, developed entire workflows around this system. The removal of SlideOver and Split View in iPadOS 26 has disrupted these workflows, leading to a decrease in productivity and an increase in frustration among users.

The new window manager, which was intended to enhance user experience, has unfortunately proven to be buggy and unintuitive to use. It lacks the simplicity and reliability that SlideOver/Split View provided.

We understand the need to introduce changes along with new operating systems, but not at the cost of rendering a well-functioning system obsolete. We are not asking for the removal of the newest updates, but rather, the coexistence of new features with SlideOver and Split View, allowing users the option to choose the interface that best suits their needs.
