I am reaching out with a heavy heart, due to my dogs being unjustly taken away. Personal accusations made by an anonymous neighbor have resulted in my beloved dogs being seized — a consequence that has left me devastated. My dogs, Montana and Dolly Girl, share a bond with our family extending over 9 years, and anyone acquainted with me can vouch for my overwhelming love and utmost care for them. They are much more than pets; they are akin to my own children. 

Unfortunately, my predicament reflects a nationwide problem with pet owners being falsely accused of pet abuse. According to the American Humane Society, numerous pet owners find themselves targets of unproven allegations of animal abuse, which frequently lead to unjust seizure of their animals. Therefore, this petition is not just about me; it is also about those who might find themselves victims of similar circumstances in the future.

We need stronger legislation and due processes that can differentiate between genuine cases of animal abuse and mere baseless accusations. We urge the local courts and animal control to thoroughly examine all evidence before condemning the actions of dedicated pet owners and separating them from their beloved animals.
