Recently myself and some of my partners held a Lego day event at a neighborhood. It was a wonderful and fun experience for everyone, including the parents who attended.
Sadly less than 24 hours after this event a murder occurred in the same place as the event. Where children were playing turned into a battleground where multiple people were involved in a gunfight and one man lost his life. The retaliation from this incident would lead to another young man ending up shot and in the hospital.
You know what we DIDNT see before, during or after the event? A police car.
For days leading up to the event we saw no patrols. After the shooting we saw no patrol cars until someone called and directly asked the agency to send someone to the candle light vigil.
